Lucky for a change!

Lucky for a change!

In the same boat mate, mine was paid 20th March, mixed messages on this, some saying your bonus is paid end of, others saying you should be entitled to the extra coin at 8 year point.....no DIN as yet.

DIN IS ISSUED - 2009DIN01-090

All the gen is in there, but the answer a few people are after is as follows:

'In order to maintain equity between the Services, those RAF personnel who have already received the final payment under the current scheme at the 7.5 year point but reach 8 years service on or after 1 April 2009, will be payed the additional £2500.'

So billy bonus for a few of us!!

Hmmm! Well I must say I am impressed. I half expected them to put a proviso in stating that to qualify for the additional £2500 you must sign on to 12 years. But that doesn't appear to be the case.

Hmmm, I read that too. However, JPAC are still adamant that they havnt heard anything? Why is everything that ever benefits you in the RAF hard fcuking work?

But, I still feel we have a little way to go yet with this! :pDT_Xtremez_25:

I received a reply from JPAC from my SR, in which it stated that they had received confirmation from the Army that the bonus had been updated but northing from the RAF or Navy.

I responded to this by pointing them in the direction of the new DIN and asking if this changed things for them, however they have just closed the SR.

I have also checked again the COMMITMENT BONUS section on JPA and it still says £2500.

The other way I tried to tackle this was by posting on the Station Commanders Forum at my unit. After a few people replied I eventually received a reply (snotogram) from the Chief Clerk saying that until the new DIN was released no further guidance could be given. I suppose I should really just phone and find out what they think is going to happen now it has been released. Has anyone else contacted their CC since this DIN came out?

Hmmm... I think the Chf Clk should have done his research before posting a public snotogram...

I personally have sent off some Commitment bonus applications with £5000 in the bonus amount box, and sent off a copy of the DIN with it!

I dont see how they can argue with that! It states £5000 at 7.5 years in black and white! I will let you know if I get any comeback but I doubt it personally. I just think its a case of people being unaware of the existence of this DIN. I dont think it has been publicised well enough. I heard about it through E-goat and Im a Clk so that says a lot!!

My suggestion to all having problems is to send the DIN off with your applications.

I have just read through the DIN myself, have you had anything come back yet?

And i presume that if this is what it is, i will get/claim the extra at my 8yr point.:pDT_Xtremez_30:

From reading the DIN, which i have in my hand, it states that

"the additional £2500 will be paid at the 8yr point ( 7.5 for RAF, 9 for RN Artificers and RM Band Service)"

So as i had my 7.5 in March, i can now claim for the additional £2500 as my 7.5 yr has past.

There is even a JPA Form which i just filled out for it, must be official!:pDT_Xtremez_30:

I'm waiting on a SR reply on iSupport as my PSF seem to think it's at the 8 year point that you get the extra money, where they get that from I'm not sure as said it does say at 7.5 years for RAF.

Anyone who had £2500 at 7.5 year point paid got the extra money yet?

Would be nice if we knew the proceedure, as in auto payment or paperwork aplication via PSF, but as yet there seems to be no answer!

It does state on the DIN that for us in the RAF, we will get the extra if our 7.5 yr point has past, and our 8yr point falls after 1st April. :pDT_Xtremez_30:

I spoke with JPA, they told the form which i need to fill in which is in JPA and to just fax it through, get a much quicker response that way!

These SR reports seem to be a waste if time, just fax the bloody form and see what happens, but the dam DIN tells them we are entitled to it!

There is a new form entitled Additional Commitment Bonus Payment JS Form JPA E030.

Handed into PSF for the rubber stamp, news to them, but they say that it seems to be they way forward (after pointing out the 7.5 not 8 years for the RAF again in the DIN) even though its not mentioned in any instruction/JSP to do so.

So just a matter of waiting now!:)
