But, DSDA are such a wonderful organisation, as we all know.

The bottom line is there are a lot of good guys working for them, not as many as there were at Stafford admittedly.

Sadly they are consistently let down by their senior management who are trying to operate to a civilian system.

If you have the time and inclination, profile the DSDA board, available on the intranet. I assure you it will explain how and why things have gone pearshaped.

The 'Top RAF Supply Officer' has told DSDA to forget last weeks Hair Brain scheme and leave PFDS and the Pty System as it is!

Maybe i'm easily impressed but seeing this news in my e-mail this morning gave me hope in a system, that at last somebody had looked at it and made a common sense decision - it seems ages since the last one in Supply but I hope this is the start of a new trend!

How about clawing back money for the stocks they have "mislocated" and passing it back to the cash straped IPTs for replacement items?

How about refunding monies forked out by stations for courier services because DSDA failed?

How about claiming back the Chief Execs bonus for allowing his system to let the forces down?

I know that grown ups in my place were particularly worried about the bit in the letter which stated that DSDA would not recognise D states and we could no longer request Spec Runs! Not that they can ever find any of our kit anyway. It ALL seems to have gone missing in the bulk stock move.

Will be interesting to see how this all pans out over the next few months but I hope you are right here mate and that OC DSDA has been given the big fat finger!

Agreed mate. It is absolutely ridiculous trying to get kit now. I spend so much time trying to find out if the stuff is at Bic/Don or dulmen!!

I saw a copy of the letter that night when I went into work and it really does read like 'fcuk off that is not going to happen!!' I was actually quite impressed that someone had the boll0x to stand up and say no for a change!!

I took some of the civilian Ranger Mangers from my IPT to Don.....What an eye opener..........Im glad that somone had the boll0x to try to correct the slight over sight..lol, I think to many OC's Sups were far to happy to sit back and say "Well lets just see how it pans out"!!!!!!!!I started this because I just knew that some units didnt even know what the plan was......SO MUCH FOR AIRSPACE.......I've said it once and will probably say it many times....Come on the power that be....We have a official site in AIRSPACE- LOGWEB.........Lets use it!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhh I was down on B site 89/90.. Just loved those exhast fumes in the hangar and the Stacker "Gods" in the wee office next door outside walking round like they were the dogs knackers... Can't beat getting a a ful wagon in round 3am!!!

PFDS Lyneham 91-94, That place was a one-off, the last bastion of non-pc workplaces.

Kicking the Can, Locking the doors on excercise, cutting through the fumes at 3am with big Bert on the LMU inbound.

Those really were the days, no pressure, no tagets and NO DSDA, just 7MU, 14MU & 16 MU all on route 20.

But here's the rub. Less than 12 months ago their stated intention was to take over all station R&D activities in conjunction with one of our major contractors.
