The main thing is that Permission to Proceed is required before the transfer can even start. This will be initiated by the lad approaching his Unit Admin Office or Chief Clerk and requesting a transfer.

On this action he should complete the relevant paperwork which is then forwarded to Manning at Glasgow and they will do there bit with it before forwarding to RAF Manning High Wycombe. The RAF will then make a decision on whether a transfer will be allowed and will then inform the Army of their decision.

If the decision is positive and they allow the lad to proceed then he will be directed to his nearest AFCO who will then take him through the recruiting process.

He will also have to check when the permission comes back about details such as Pay Levels, Rank etc as this is determined by a trade sponsor. He should be made aware that he will have to complete RAF basic training and then the level of trade training would again be determined by the trade sponsor.

    Hope that helps a little
hello buddy, you will have to hand in a draft on day one so need to think what you are going to do. If there is anyone at your unit who has recently done IMLC have a look at their WBA, it will give you a good understanding.
It does not have to be relevant to your job, could be getting a bike stand made up to stop all the bikes being left against walls. Moving office into a larger one etc etc.
It is all about the content, keep it simple and explain any military abbreviations as its marked by a civilian. Good luck.
