Great, thanks. Is it paid for each day of a month? So, 30 x £6.73 for April?

I own and live with the fam in my own house 190 miles from my unit. During the working week I live in the mess and commute home after I have finished the weeks’ working days- typically 3 days- i.e. commute to the unit Friday night, work Sat/Mon/Tues, commute home Tues night. My unit have said I...

    Considering rejoining!

Word from The FPS is that as I took full commutation I must pay the amount my pension was reduced by annually back until I am 55. I.e. if my pension was £16K and commutation dropped it to £13.5K I must pay back from salary £2.5K per year (£210 per month) until I am 55. Thus meaning, I will pay...

    Effect of rejoining on pension?

So, had a written response from the FPS.... if I rejoin the regular RAF my pension will be abated as I am receiving an AFPS 75 scheme immediate pension. The extra gratuity I took through commutation must be paid back.

    Effect of rejoining on pension?

Hmm. Through commutation my pension was reduced by £2.5K annually ... planned for the near 15 years from the point I retired to my 55th birthday which would be £37,5K I would ‘pay back’ for the extra gratuity I took. As I retired nearly 4 years ago i’m into this ‘repayment’ by £10K. Is this...

    Effect of rejoining on pension?

I retired nearly 4 years ago and elected to take full commutation. I have joined the FPS to get a steer on likely effects but given the time of year and how busy they say they are it looks like I won’t hear from them any time soon. My understanding is that I must pay back the commutation...

    Considering rejoining!

I have asked the FPS about this but it can be 4-6 weeks for a reply. I would rather start paying it back straight away.

    Considering rejoining!

Nah, not my reasoning. Not asking for higher rank.

    Considering rejoining!

Hmm.... bit bored at work, miss Service life and the money to some extent. Bit concerned about paying back the commutation gratuity!

Should we trust the training of phase 1 recruits to SACs

Having been a Flt Cdr at RTS I would say it is down to the calibre/mettle of the individual not their rank. I saw some poor SNCO instructors.

    Considering rejoining!

Hello all. I retired with an Immediate Pension about 3 years ago. I am thinking of rejoining...am I mad? Anyone on here done the same? What happened about your pension/gratuity?
