Spain is supposedly totally broke and the perverse thing is there will be Real Madrid fans queing at food banks rejoicing in the fact that their club has just shelled out a monster amount of money for a vanity signing. The world has gone totally mad.

And it makes Bale's gay make-a-heart-out-of-hands goal-scoring celebration to the Spurs fans even more meaningless!

No doubt, he is a very good player but the fee - madness!
 
I think we may be missing the bigger picture...
No World Cup, no European Championship, no love from the Spurs fans and a career stopper at 35 possibly, but for £300K per week do you REALLY think he's bothered?
