On Sunday 2nd September 2012, I am going to attempt to skate 100miles to raise money for SSAFA. I will be skating with a group of people who are raising money for Sports Relief, but being a member of the Royal Air Force I thought I would go for a charity thats a bit closer to home so to speak.

SSAFA do great work supporting the British Armed Forces and their families, providing assistance to serving and ex members of the forces whether they served for 22yrs or one day!

The skate was suggested to me by a friend and I kind of volunteered myself to take part before realising what I was quite getting myself into, those that know me will understand that this is massive to me as I consider the fitness test a constant bain of anotherwise enjoyable career!

Hey ho I will be attempting to skate the entire 100 Miles which is all happening in one day so I cant cheat and spread it over a few weekends.

Please support myself and my two kids who will be doing the mini skate the day before.

Every penny raised helps, cheers!

Is that ice skating at a rink or inline skating or quad skating on the street?

Thats inline skating on streets mate, some of the others are on quads. Dont think I could handle 100miles on an ice rink the boredomwould get to me before the fatigue lol

Good news on the Skates front, I have managed to get sponsorship from Integral to get some shiney new skates that are designed for endurance races. This nowmeans all I have to worry about is training, weather and completing the 100 miles.
