Just wondered if anybody knows what the score is for signing on from 12 to 15 at the moment? not sure if it differs per trade but im a stacker if it helps.

As a 10 year SAC stacker, I've been refused twice now. Never failed my RAFFT etc. Apparently they won't even look at you until you're in your last year, and then it's with a scrutinous eye.

Apply at any chance you get (every 6 months) but definitely sign on to resettlement. Even if you get picked up / signed on you don't have to pay for any course you've started, and are free to carry them on at no cost to you.

Lets just hope once the SDR is out of the way things will return to normal but until then, I would certainly get on every course and opportunity you can.

Cheers for that im an SAC with 18 months left till ive done my 12 but im currently in Afghan so resettlement will be started when im home in a couple of weeks.
 
When I was out there my Chief Clark (OC PSF) did my initial briefing for me. Also out there the ECDL is totally free and you can do the full course.
 
Just come back from a an AMP briefing. It was mentioned about 9-12 and 12-15. As best as I understood it(shineys help me out if I am wrong) the signing on board sits twice a year Feb & Aug(I think) and your application is done on a case by case basis and the needs of the service and trade. Probably doesn't make it any clearer but hope it does a wee bit.
 
They say you can do it in a 4 monther, possibly quicker if you really hit it. Speak to the Chf Clerk (In Heroes bar for KAF) and they will tell you about all the info.

Had it direct from Gp Capt ACOS Manning this morning, little to no chance at the moment.
