I would like to see if any of you Goaters can offer me any advice on this:-

I was posted away from a secret Lincolnshire base on the 17th Sept 12 up to North Yorkshire, then today I had an email of my old Chief to say that I will have to do the SJARs for the SAC's on the shift that I left in Sept. However by the time that the SJARs come around (report date 1 Mar 13) it will be nearly 6 months!! How can I write a fair and honest assessment on some one that I haven't seen for 6 months!!!

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

You should have been asked to do an interim or mid term for your lads which should be used by your replacement to augment his assessment on them.
You shouldn't be expected to do their full March SJAR, especially as you will probably be doing your new lads.
Plus it's part of your clearance with PSF to declare whether you are required to do any reports before you leave....
I know I had to when leaving buffoon hq 2 weeks ago.
If you are no longer part of their workflow the most he could expect is a mid term.

I thought the SAC SJAR reporting period was from 1 Jan to 2 Jan?

You must have done their mandatory MPARs in July?

You should have really had their SJARs raised before you left with the reason as 'Succession of 1st RO'. Any significant achievements after you left could be mentioned by the 2nd RO.

That's what I did as I didn't want my lads to be disadvantaged by my posting before their SJARs were due.
