Hubby has been posted to a new unit but will only be there for max 4 - 5 months as the whole section is moving to a new station. I know we won't be entitled to 2 lots of Disturbance if we move within 6 months, but will our removals be paid for twice in 6 months? The JSP doesn't seem to have any exemptions as it does for DA, but any further advice would be appreciated.

That will depend upon a case being written up for you as the rules are that you must have an expectation of six months service at a new Unit to qualify for DA and FRE. However, as your hubby is being posted in, a case may have already been prepped, but I expect that he will be expected to do a couple of months unaccompanied and then move you to the new Unit if there is SFA there.

That's not good - he will have just returned from 6 months OOA so I kind of didn't want us to spend any more time apart. Oh well, let's just hope his section put a good case forward then. Thanks for the response.

If he is getting posted onto the strength of a unit, and that unit then relocates, wouldn't this be classed as a mid assignment move and therefore attract the relevant allowances? I was required to move house within 4 months of arriving at Aki and received disturbance and removals.
