Hi all,
I have two questions..
1. What trade does an Aircraft Handler come under??
2. Do weapons technicians work on QRA?
Cheers:PDT_Xtremez_28:

1. We don't have an 'Aircraft Handlers'trade. All Aircraft engineering trades work on the Flight Line.
2. Yes.

Thanks, yh thats what I meant, what trade/s do the handling. spot on :P

I also would like to know can you be an Air Traffic Controller if you are not an officer, as I seem to recall a youtube diary about an air traffic controller in Iraq and she was a SGT and I cant find anything on the careers site ?

Cheers :PDT_Xtremez_28:

how do you go about becoming a air traffic controller (Non commissoned) as theres nothing on the careers webbie??

visit the AFCO and talk to the nice people they'll even give you a cup of tea.

Yes, you can now apply for DE ATC. You will need to go through all the usual recruitment process as well as attend OASC for selection. After basic training, you will need to pass part one of the NCAIT course at Cranwell before going to Shawbury to attend JATCC.

Te RAF Careers website seems to be lagging behind at the moment. I suggest a long chat with the AFCO.
