Use this discount code on the Kwik Fit website, to receive 20% off servicing - KWIKFITSERVICE. To use simply book your service through the website and insert the code in the relevant box. It just saved me £32 on the most expensive service and is valid until 28th Feb 2011.

I know some people will moan about Kwik Fit, but I've found that my local branch (Northallerton) is pretty good.

I took my 4 x into my local quick fit a couple of months ago with a slow puncture. I expected to pay £15-£20. They did the repair and balanced the wheel and stuck it back on the car and said, "I can't charge you for it as we don't have a code and can't enter it into the till."

I gave him a tenner for their t-bar. It may have gone in his skyrocket but I was quids in anyway.

The voucher code doesn't work for Service + MOT but if you book them seperately online and use the voucher code for the service it saves about £6

After visiting Kwik Fit Swindon for service and MOT I shall never darken their doors again. £686 they wanted for repairs to get it through its MOT. Parts needed, 1 ball joint (got one for £15 from a Ford breakers), 1 brake caliper (£39.60) and a brake pipe. 2-3 hours labour at the most. Handbrake needs adjusting, centre seat belt was fixed by tapping the back of the seat (common fault in Mondeos) and that was it. £686!!!!!!

To top it all they had the car all day and didn't even start the servicing

The Chippenham branch isn't much better, couldn't balance my wheels and used the wrong style weights. The hammer on ones instead of the stick on types. Normally use Costco but needed it doing before I had chance to get there.

I remember taking my Scenic (RIP) to them after it developed a strange noise...they diagnosed I needed a new exhaust.

Mate said he would look at it and it was actually an ignition coil (quite common in the older Scenics). That was about 6 years ago and I never did change, or have a need to, the exhaust!

Just changed the coils occasionally myself having paid £8 from ebay for it - garage did do the first one and charged me £55...robbing barstewards - a 2 minute job!
