I can't believe its been 25 years. As an Imps fan married to a Bradford lass, this tragedy now has more poignancy(sp?) for me.

I remember watching the live news report on Calendar as it happened. I was 8 at the time.

My thoughts are with all those affected. RIP to the 56 lost :PDT_Xtremez_37:

I would have carried on this thread but it has been closed

I was just about to finish Swinderby when it happened, and I recall the fire section using it on CCS at Bruggen only they show far more than the news did pretty distressing to watch. RIP to those who went to celebrate promotion and never got home.

All done in a dignified way I thought. The Yorkshire people don't keep banging on about it like the Scousers do with Hillsborough.

I was a young lad at the time, and even though we lived about 10 miles from Valley Parade we could see the plume of smoke rising up above the town, and then it came on the news and couldn't believe it that the smoke we were watching was a football ground going up in flames.

I remember going through CCS/GDT and the fire brief included footage of the fire just to show how fast a large structure can go up.

Yeah I know what you mean, never understood why the Bradford fire seemed to have been forgotten about, especially after the changes made to football as a result, remember being in tanker pool at Cranwell the thursday after and watching the local Lincolnshire news at 1pm and seeing a report of how the Lincoln city football team were being taken to Tenerife I think and the undercarriage on their aircraft collapsed on landing, some people have no luck.

I remember it well, watching it in my room at Waddo.

Funny how the RS fans remember Hillsborough but conveniently forget Heysal.

Watched the TV coverage of the match with the clock in real time in the corner on Youtube. Absolutely horrific and heartbreaking the speed at which it spread.

I don't normally watch Football but 25 years ago I was a Patient in Cambridge Military Hospital, Aldershot. To show how times have changed I went to the Common Room at the end of the Ward for a smoke (I don't do that now either!)
I watched it "Live" on TV.

What does that have to do with the Bradford stadium disaster? A pretty cheap way of attempting to score points, don't you think?

Anyway, I remember it well. A sad, sad day.
