Ever heard of OPSEC? Why don't you post the flight number as well as the names of every person you are going out with?! Honestly mate, THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE!
 
there is nothing restricted about the information I have put on. If any of this was restricted then the IBN or any of the paperwork published about it would have caveats. How is this any different to the newspapers publishing the fact that JHF are returning from KAF, or that an army brigade is going out to bastion.

So mentioning specific dates that you are flying out isn't a tad bit silly? IMHO, those kinds of details should be kept under the radar because it doesn't take a genius to figure out the amount of time it takes to fly to said theatres....!

Maybe i'm just being a little bit too cautious...?
 
back to topic, was reading the FAQs on the 90su website about everything to do with whats changing. 1 thing that is said is that the decission about R+R hasn't been decided yet, anyone else see this?
 
I saw that i also was told that if we dont get r+r then its getting recended from other raf personnel too but that sounds bit fishy to me. also heard there going to 6 month dwrs dont know if thats true.

also in response to chumpzilla regarding his opsec quote, you would have to be naive to think that anyone who wants to know where we go to stop at or land on during flights or dets away isnt going to find out if they really want to. hell my advice is if you want to findout join facebook.

plus people that quote opsec, bead window or any saying like that on a forum like this should be shot :P:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Right.

We take Opsec VERY seriously on here. We are monitered by 591 SU and others and people are itching to revoke IGS status to sites like ours.

4 sqns = 4 months on enduring ops, 12 months off. Same as the old rapier days.

After 4 months back from enduring ops there is a 4 month contingency ops period, so you could get pinged again. But as always on 90SU, all plans subject to change whenever they feel like it.
 
I'd like to point out i'm not and yet to be on the wing (just aint caught up with me on the drafters desk). IMHO we signed up to do as ordered, even if it means 4+ month dets. Yes it's totally **** about R+R but we've no union to complain to and i'm (going out on a limb) certain there must be reasons why, if its numbers on transports ect who knows. To all those on the wing keep your chins up, you all do a great job!
 
TBH i'm happy doing the first 4 months Det. Yea it's a bit crappy being away for Christmas but I would have been away even if it was a 10 week det. Most of the time the dets where extended by a week either side anyway due to handover so in reality we are only doing another 4-6 weeks ontop. Bigger op bonus and you can save more money being away for 4 months.
