I PVR'd a couple of years ago having done 13 of a 15 yr engagement (15+6) Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere and Im not sure if this would be the correct forum but what in reality does the +6 actually mean?
My understanding is that during the next few years I could be called upon to man a MOB if the sh1t really does hit the fan (ie World War) but the likelyhood of this is minimal. Ive heard people say that they'd just refuse to go and that the authorities couldnt do anything about it..
Could somone please enlighten me about the realities of this as I want to clear my attic out and Im really wondering do I need to keep hold of my dessies, greycoat, respirator etc (apart from when roleplaying with the missus...)

We would be talking vast amounts of sh1t hitting the fan before calling up reserves, especially at the moment when the country has money worries funding those still in the mob.

I'd say you should be ok. (I really don't want to know about the rest although there are plenty who would on here!:PDT_Xtremez_14:)

I should think you will be ok finally getting rid of the excess loft insulation, if or when the **** does hit the fan and were recalled for reserve service, you would most likely recieve minor administrative action for not having your old kit, then if you miss a dental inspection or med centre appointment the same and if you were to fail a fitness test you would be discharged from the service... you could be in and out within a week:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Or you could just tell them you will be in as soon as you come down from your Heroin high and you are fit to drive?

Realistically, once you are out, if you don't want to do any reserve service, you don't have to. So many ways out of it.

So they are supposed to let you keep all your kit?

I handed back a lot of mine, but kept some greens, boots, webbing and a few other bits, thinking I was being sneaky. (And secretly preparing for zombie/alien invasion, where I would have to don my kit and roam the streets to protect my family)

If they are supposed to let you keep it for reserves use, I'd have kept hold of my helmet and respirator!
