Just after some gen from someone in the know please:I have been put on a course that has no accommodation due to some sporting event going on this year and the have told me they will issue a non availability chit. Not sure what this means! Hotel? if so is there a procedure to go through myself or do I need to go through PSF?I know I can claim the travel there and back or hire car or even obtain a rail warrant but is there anything else I can claim - eg food money? I know IE has gone! Many thanks yous

I believe there is a central booking place when you have a non availibility chit mate. Your PSF should have the contact details for them.

The Defence Hotel Reservation Service - call 0844 8484422 or email dhrs.uk@hrgworldwide.com

Might be safest to get the Form 95 faxed/emailed to you first though to ensure you definitely have it.

I think if there is any Service accommodation within 20/50 miles you need to use that though - a PSF type might come along to confirm ?

(JSP 752 has the details)

Don't stations have travel cells anymore? If so just go see them and have a hotel in mind in case they are open to suggestions!

just be prepared to pay for the hotel yourself then claim it back when you RTU. or stick in an advance before you leave but you'll still have to stump up some cash as the advance only gives you 70% ish......

Had this with accomodation surrounding Aldershot area. Odiham was full up. ended up being in Aldershot army barracks, in a 8 man room with my kit in a metal locker next to the bed space.

For £30 i could of stayed in the local Travelodge. When i met up with the guys the next day, they said they preferred to travel the 50-60 miles to the sporting event, than to stay in sub-standard accomodation.

Next time, ill plan things a little better and try to find a camp with a) A superblock transit room b) A local village with a pub.

*RAF Brampton can be struck from the list.

Yeah I can see this coming my way....travel cell have contacted London Division to try and get some accom....can't wait for the answer :PDT_Xtremez_42:

I might just book a cheap hotel a bit out of the way and pay it myself!
