My hubby and I are both in the RAF and the charges for the quarter comes out of my wages.

The hubby was at Marham for 2 weeks last month and has been charged not only food but also accomodation. I am sure that this is complete crap but one of his Cpls has told him that this in normal now the system has changed.

However I believe that ok, food charges have changed, and he has to pay that, but there is no way he should have been charged accommodation.

Can anyone confirm that I am right?

PSF rules & regs are a distant memory for me now unfortunately, and I haven't got sight of JSP 754 at home but I guess as your hubby is in P Cat Stat 5s, he's liable for the accom charges too. Some helpful shiney will be along soon to put me right but that's what my best guess is at the moment.

Having not long got back from a service course i can tell you that food charges he would definately have to pay but i'm sure he shouldnt have had to pay towards accomodation. I never had to but that could be because i live in my own house and not in service accomodation.

That's my understanding as well, but I'm at home so can't check.

Now I'm no shiney, but are you saying that your marital cat would change from 1 to 5S just because you went on a course/attachment?? Seems bizarre to me :PDT_Xtremez_35:

No, that's not what we're saying; Sniffer is P Cat Stat 1S as she pays the SFA charges therefore Mr Sniffer will be Cat 5S. Therefore he will be liable (we think) to pay accommodation charges whilst detached. If Mrs S was detached she would only pay Food, not the accom.

Ahh, I think I get your drift as they are both serving, but pay only 1 accom charge whilst in SFA?

Whilst at Cosford I was 5s and only paid abated food charges, not sure how it stands now as this was a couple of years ago but if it is different it takes the p!ss.

I agree if it has changed to this then I think it is bang out of order. I can understand him having to pay food because he ate the stuff (and probably made the most of not having to eat my cooking). But to have to pay for a skanky transit room also... Takes the biscuit.

Just for arguments sake if there was no accom at the Unit he was sent to and had to stay in a hotel would he be charged for that. No of course not! So why pay for transit accom?

It won't be long before this will be the case though !!
