Hi, just wondering if anyone can offer some advice! I am due to complete my 22 years in exactly 6 months tomorrow, at present I am signed on for LOS30. I was just wondering that if I go onto JPA tomorrow and put my notice in to come out in 6 months if that would be accepted or is there a posibility that they would make me go early and thus forfit the full 22year pension, ideally I would like to click the button tomorrow and get out bang on the 22 year point.

Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Personally I'd stick it out for the next 6 months - just to make sure you've done the 22 years and you don't potentially miss out on anything you've earned!

6 months will soon pass chap!

2 sides

2 sides

Firstly the constructive side.

You can bang your PVR in and they will look at it and if you can be spared then they will approve it for the date you ask for. They shouldn't cut it any shorter as you need a period to sort your life out. You are requesting to go on a certain date and they should not be able to "get rid" of you any earlier without good reason.
TOP TIP leave on a Sunday as you get paid for those 2 extra days.
Specify a day a few weeks after to make sure in case of any unknown time off you may have forgotten about.
If your PVR now they should not look at you going away
If you PVR now you will be protected in some sense from them upping the minimum to 12 months.

Less constructive....LOS 30? so you have your 3rd?

Why are you asking on here? It is your responsibility to know this or at least know where to look it up. It mist have been something you have been thinking about for a while?
It is people like you and the people writing your reports and sitting on the boards that have made me push the button! Get yourself down to an RRC as it is all going to happen very quickly if you have the bottle to press the button.

If you look in the rigth place you'll find a table of PVR waiting times for each trade so you're unlikely to go earlier than that unless you ask for and are given permission to.

Agreed that as a SNEC you should be able to find all the information required on the intranet.

6 months is the minimum time for a PVR - there is nothing to stop you pressing the button and stating a date 7, 8 9, 10 months in advance.

Is that current for all trades then?

Have a look at the manning site. The point I was making is that you can submit an ET request for any date in the future, as long as it is more than 6 months in advance.

One of my FS's subitted his last month for an ET date of 1 May - 8 months in advance, as that particular date suited him.

Not at work and I know my trade is or at least was 6 months last time I looked, I was under the impression that the time on the manning site was the minimun expected but I take it that is only if in a pinch trade as referred to in another thread or is it always flexible depenndant on your management then?

I asked for an 18 month notice time and got it. Snuck in a nice little OOA and plenty of time for resettlement and job hunting - back of the net!
