Hi,

My names Dan :) Just recently applied to the RAF as a regiment gunner the position doesn't open intill April.

Was looking to get some tips on what to expect in the interview, fitness test and just a general inside on life in the RAF.

:)

Morning Dan

Morning Dan

Check with your AFCO with regards the trade being open.

With regards PGAG or PGSC as it's now called they have changed they way they select the successful. Before it was done on the best of each PGAC/PGSC now they wait until they have run a few of the courses and take the best from that group. This could mean on a particularly bad course nobody gets selected, probably very unlikely.

They were averaging about the top quarter/fifth of each course being selected as succesful, but with competition getting tougher and tougher and the not fit enough being filtered out with a Pre Fitness Test this may go higher or if fewer get through the fitness test and if they run fewer courses it may go higher.

At the end of the day do your best, and if thats good enough you'll get in.

If you don't do your best you've only yourself to blame.
