Age limit for auggies

Can anybody tell me the upper age limit for joining and upper age limit for retiring from the auggies.

It depends on what trade you want to go in and what skills you have.

I think in general the upper age limit is 50, or 55 with previous military experience. Best to speak to the unit you are interested in joining.

I was asked by somebody what was the maximun age you can stay in the auggies , soz for confusion.

Current age limit is 60, though there were rumours of an extension to that a while back...

A number of retired RAF personnel were recruited immediately after leaving regular service, and at the age of 60. One person served from the day after his 60th birthday until he reached 67. The essential components for his retention was his specialist qualifications, and his medical fitness.

To my certain knowledge 12 auggies served beyond the age of 60 on one unit.

Logic would dictate that at a time when the Auggies have the green light to recruit more SDSR that they retain their experienced personnel if, and I repeat if, they can meet the demands of their employment and contribute usefully to their unit. Does the Equalities Act 2010 cover the reserve forces ??

The equalities act does not apply to the forces.

I have just had my Commission extended having reached age 60 in September. It is possible, obviously, but by no means a given, as your unit will have to advertise your job to see if there are any takers still under 60.

Fitness doesn't persuade them on it's own, as I'm still doing 9 minute mile and a halfs, and can reach reach level 10.08 on the bleep.
