Hi can any body tell me what qualifications you need to get an AIP as a SNCO or point me to the right JSP. As I understand it now you cannot get one with a
Licentiateship or membership to a proffesional body.
Cheers

Hi, there is a loop hole you can exploit, The RAF sponsor the City and Guilds route at a discount, Hence they have blocked that for AIP as you will know, However if you apply direct to C+G and apply for a Licienetateship using 2 Years knowledge signed off by your boss together with a NVQ level 3 or BTEC as per the paperwork you can get it at a cost of about £106. Now comes the clever bit, I spoke to the WO trade sponsor who confirmed to me that "as long as you can prove that you did not use the RAF route to a Licenatateship it is ok for AIP" I know it works as I have used it, and have the pay rise to prove it. I hope this helps.

We are talking Trade Group 1 here, most swanton's have a BTEC from Cosford and an NVQ level 3 comes free on rice krispies.

Oi...it took a few days hard graft getting that NVQ............totally out of date now but hey ho...............

BTEC from Cosford and NVQ through the RAF?

Be very wary of the Licenatateship as a route to AIP, the RAF is on to it. I looked in to it and was told by TDF that it's pretty worthless as it's a qualification that is pretty much bought.

Some may have got lucky and got throught but it is only a matter of time before this loop hole is 100 % shut.

I got an AIP with the Licenatateship as a snco.

The qual is not really worth much, a few letters after your name on the CV. However for the extra pound a day it was worth it.

Yes you are right when you say it is a bought qualification and I know loads of lads that got AIP using the RAF route before they spotted their mistake and shut that door, but it does work, has the approval of the trade sponsor and who gives two tits about the qualification if you get a pay rise which is what you are after.

I got AIP one with a Licentiateship back in 2002 (Q-PI-C). Just got my 2nd AIP with Prince2 qualification (good write up by SEngO, 2 of us on Sqn on same course got Q-PI-D for it).

But, just found out my pay was screwed because of it. I went from Level 3 High band to level 4 LOW BAND!!!!! £2500 pounds difference at -4.38%!! (happend to both of us on the Prince course!!) So we phoned JPAC who have logged it and said it could take 10 days!! Thats my pay down £200 this month and I'm not holding out for it being sorted next month either.

So moral is, CHECK as soon as you get qualified as this High band to next level Low band has happend several times according to our Sqn Admin and they are powerless to stop it at present (only JPAC can sort)

F**k wits....

This must be how they're affording to pay Admin staff high band yet secretly moving techies to low band!!:PDT_Xtremez_35:

By the way, in this new "Can Do Safely" culture ...is there a way of raising QOR against whoever did this to ensure that it gets the system sorted (no blame culture !)???
