airway billing PE's

Dunno if it's changed recently, but last time I worked in R&D on Herrick this time last year we had people signing the AWBs for their own PEs. And we never had one rejected out of the god knows how many hundred we sent.

Maybe the movers have decided to change things to annoy people again, or he was just bored and decided to mess you about.
 
Sorry really boring tread but we at work had a problem with sending someones Pe's the other day.

I was told long ago when i first sarted that if someone turns up with PE's to send somewhere, they raise (with help probably) the AWB and they sign it.

these PE's got rejected by some Sgt Mover saying that it had to be signed only by a DG quiled SNCO ( i know thats bo**ox) but does a DG quiled person have to sign AWB's for PE's now?

answers on a post card or posted up

AFAIK whoever packed the PE signs it as declaring it contains no DG, along with a C3 customs clearance form. Sounds like the Mover SNCO talking arse.

When people start this kind of thing I always ask for them to give me JSP/AP reference. That way I can carry out the correct procedure for you mate (in a non-sarcastic voice obviously). 9/10 they back down because they're being dicks & don't know. Result!
 
At Waddo, they never sent PE's by air, only surface means - I think it was due to them being a low priority.

If it's a small item sent to someone overseas, wait until something else needs to go (IE something official that is urgent!) and put them in the box together. Obviously, offering packs of biscuits might help your cause slightly :)

in the case of PE's, the person who's PE's they are sign the AWB.

I thinks not, for PE's the packer of the box is to sign the shippers declaration stating no DG has been packed and is not to sign the customs declaration on page 3 of the awb but is to fill out a seperate customs form.
We do not pack PE's and we are by law not allowed to open said box if it is declared as personal effects, therefore if we signed said airwaybill we would be signing as contents checked. I believe it is written somewhere in the movements JSP rather than ours.

I have never once signed an airwaybill for PE's and have got the individual in question to sign it everytime. Not once has it been rejected by DTMA or the movers out at al udeid when I was there.

Sorry matey but that is nonsense.

A SNCO can sign the declaration of an AWB stating that it is not Dangerous Goods contained within. If it does contain DG then he can only sign it if he is Q-Sup-DG. Failing that he must find an individual suitably qualified to check the consignment.

For PE's, the individual who has packed the box must sign the declaration and then complete the Customs form prior to despatch.

Aint rocket science fellas, a DG qualified person signs the AWB to confirm that the contents aren't DG.

That my friend is where you are very wrong. The 1380 (C3 and Op Plunder Cert if OOA) are all to be signed by the person whom the P.E's belong too. Anything else i.e A/C spares that is sent on a 1380 is to be signed by smeone who is Q-SUP-DG (or Army/Navy equivilant), unless ofcourse it isn't DG where an SNCO or above can also sign.

Just got back from Op Herrick and thats how we played it out there.
