Well they've enjoyed dishing out the Dogs (W@anking) abuse all year, and amazingly they all seem to have crawled back under their rocks today.

I wonder who's nervously looking over their shoulders at the threat of relegation now then?

Oh what a day :PDT_Xtremez_30:

It was nice to see Owen looking sharp. Different class.

It'll be interesting next year to see how they do.

Gotta be at least mid table next year, with a few signings.

Watched the game as a neutral and for me the team playing better football won. I did fell sorry for Kenwynne Jones thought he worked his nads off with almost no back up except from occasional help from a fat bloke who looked like he could do with losing a few pounds. Owen did look sharp but the pen was bit dodgy when viewed from my armchair. Jones wouldn't have scored if they where still playing now a lone striker v a back four not a contest didn't understand Keans tactics at all.

Stanley lost again but at last we will still be in league 2 next year

Where are you Mackems? The predictions of imminent doom when King Kev came back have gone. I hope you don't get relegated though so we can humiliate you again next year!

Easy for you to say that now you are safe, but to answer your question I'd say Bolton, Reading and Brum... just as it was at the start of the day, I can't see all 3 of these teams catching us.

We just weren't good enough today, the 2 defenders we had out injured have been big players for us recently, and we missed them. McShane was utter ****e, and Higgy gave the pen away. I thought he was unlucky myself, although it did hit his arm, and on another day it may not have been given.

As soon as I saw the team sheet and realised that Evans and Bardsley were out with McShane and Higgie in, I knew we were in trouble. McShane is not a Premiership player and we could have played till midnight and still not scored. Tb – you were right, it was never a penalty and I think Keano got his tactics wrong today, he should have played Chopra up front in a 4-4-2 formation and why was Richardson starting on the bench? Still, if we beat the Smoggies next week that will be us safe for next year.

Ghandi, NM and Stingray, yes I will give you this one but remember the old Klingon proverb – Revenge is a dish best served cold – and it is always bloody cold at SJP in the winter!

Was in the pub today when the fnal score was announced. Some bloke had his dog with him and the dog just went nutz - smashing the pub up.

Landlord shouts at the bloke "WTF is going on with the dog?" Bloke replies, "Oh he always does this when Sunderland lose." Landlord says, "Bl00dy hell, what does he do when they win?"

"Dunno" replies the bloke. "I've only had him three years."

Coat...... door.......

I'm not a Mackem fan, but I don't think that mid (to bottom) table mediocrity is ANYTHING to be proud of really. Seems that the north-eastern teams are pretty much on a par to me!!

The difference between Sunderland and Newcastle this season is that we are in a position that everyone from our smartly-dressed chairman downwards expected us to be in (ie just above the drop-zone).

The great unwashed though from their fat owner in his very ill-fitting replica top (available at £39.99 from his ****e "sports" shops) all expected to be in the top 4, as they do every season.

Therefore, we have almost achieved our objective of remaining in the league - you have woefully underachieved again, and will continue to do so until your fat owner and his bunch of half-wit followers set themselves a more realistic target, such as breaking into the top half, let alone the top 4!
