Hi all

Just a quick post asking for advice and / or info on a second AIP please:

Basically, I have used an AIP (for an NVQ Level 4 in Management) and was wondering what people would suggest for a further AIP - not sure I could do Level 5 but you never know...I am still open minded.

I am TG17 and will attend AMLC soon so I guess I will get some info then (?) but just wondered if anyone has any suggestions, the easier the better.....!

Also wondered about AMLC, has anyone been recently and could give me some general info via here of pm as you please.

Thanks all

The course JI's including a course prog are on the Halton website, just need to navigate to the right bit.

You also need to get hold of someone who has just done it and get hold of their CD with all the course work on it. The staff actually encourage thi as it means you are better prepared and saves you hours of work during the week or the middle weekend.

You will need to do two powerpoint presentations as a starting point. One on what your or your trade do (10 mins) and an organisational goal, identify something wrong in your work place and what you can do to correct it basically.

Along with the 2 ten min power point you will need a loose minute that is a written version of the second power point. You can get the format off a previous student.

Also it is worth doing a fam on the journal you will need to keep. All the stuff is briefed but good prep is not wasted!

There is an accreditation for the course which, after two years in rank will qualify you for the award. I understand that TG17 have used it to gain AIP, so I would suggest other trades could to?

as previously posted :

Not too different from the IMLC then? Nothing too much to worry about then.

The qualifications you can use for your second AIP are contained in GAI 1058, Annex B Appendix 1 - you can find this lovely document on the RAF Intranet, under Publications, Reference.

The relevant extract for Q-PI-D for TG17 is as follows:

"Either:

1. Management or trade related S/NVQ Level 4 or above.

or

2. Trade related qualification that is equivalent to an S/NVQ Level 4 or above that is eligible for funding via the SLC scheme.

Trade related S/NVQs include:

Personnel Management, Training & Development (Human Resources), Training & Development (Learning Development), Accounting, Administration, Audit Internal, Developing IT Systems, IT Services, Customer Systems Support, Management, Managing IT Systems, Project Management.

Personnel in possession of the D34 Internal Verifier Award or the new V1 Internal Verifier Award will qualify for the award of Q-PI-D.

Acceptable Educational Equivalencies:

BTEC/SCOTVEC Higher National Certificate/Diploma in a trade related subject such as:
Business & Finance, IT & Computing, Management, Trade Degrees & Post Graduate qualifications (Certificates & Diplomas).

Acceptable Professional Equivalencies:

AAT Advanced Level, Advanced Diploma in Administrative Management (Adv Dip in AM), British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) (Part 1 exam), Certificate in Education (Further Education) equivalent to PGCE, ACCA Certificate, Certificate in Management Competence.

Any other trade related qualifications deemed appropriate by the Trade Sponsor"

So take your pick!

If you look on the A1 Support Web Page there's a sub page on Personal Development for our Trade/Branch, might give you a good idea about what will get you your next AIP and help you move up.

Good luck with the AMLC

Many thanks for the info; I am away from intranet at the mo so it really helps my search for the next course/AIP (and AIPof course = more dosh!)

Cheers

I would do a Degree in Management; submit your NVQ to one of the 4 Universities in the Consortium (see RAF Learning Forces website) along with your AMLC achievement (i think that is a further 30 point credit) and you could be a long way along the degree if all your units in your NVQ match the first year of your degree along with the AMLC credit! It would be a shame not to use it.

Ask on AMLC as they have the knowledge.

Best of luck

Not sure of the question but if it is can you get an AIP from AMLC, the answer is yes. Wor las got hers without question but other trades have had to argue...... Get the gen on disc from those who have recently done the course or you could be busy.

Looking for a friendly soul who has recently done AMLC who could give me some gen and the CD with all the gen on it too!

I'd imagine a sense of humour and the ability to work things out for yourself would have been essential skills for Flt Sgt too

Nothing wrong with my sense of humour as I been in this mob for 20 odd years!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to write your grammatically incorrect replies (and for also including your dodgy spellings too). With this in mind I don't think I will take you up on your offer to do the course for me as I want to pass :PDT_Xtremez_30:.

Oh and I do have the skills you imagine are required as a FS - not Flt Sgt as you say...

Being in the mob for 20 odd years does not automatically grant you a sense of humour!! It just means your really old! :PDT_Xtremez_14:
