Sorry I disagree with you SB, I dont think shes a crap singer compared to some of the other rubbish out there such as anything from crap idol however I do think she is probably one of the biggest idiots on the face of the earth. She has a talent which she is throwing away somebody needs to take control of her and sort her out but unfortunately I think its too late for her she is destroying her life and I dont think anybody could help her.
 
While not my kind of music she does have a good voice, but I have fook all sympathy for the junkie smackhead, if she and the other waster pete dochaty can get a good vain full of bleach had have their heads explode then all the better

Fair enough, it takes all sorts. But I was one person ho cried when Lennon died. Not because I loved the Beatles or because I thought the world would be poorer for his passing. Not long before Elvis had died and Radio 1 had played everything he had ever recorded till I was sick of hearing it. I realised Lennon would get the same treatment and I couldn't handle the shock.

Whinehouse sucks donkey dick (allegedly) and I don't want her being compared to Janice Joplin, another wasted youth that wasted her life, then held up as an example to our children.

I would happily take control of her and lock her away until people say "Amy who ?" But I think this girl will need longer than 4 days to get her sh!t together.
 
I wouldn't class Amy as an example to anyone, unless you want to know how to be stick thin, look like death permenently and continually let people down (I think she's cancelled a few gigs for 'health' reasons).

She does have a good voice but as she has absolutely no interest whatsoever in changing the way she lives her life then whatever happens is down to her own doing. I also don't think it would take much for people to move on, just like if the same thing happened to Pete Doherty.
 
IIRC her father blamed her marriage to the fielder-civil guy as her downfall, now that he is locked up Amy is clearly falling apart about it but i do have to wonder what her husband makes of all this? You would assume that after being inside for a while now, he is ''clean'' ,surely he has some contact with her, visits/letters etc to tell her how fecked up she is.

When I listen to her music in the car, or at home, there is no discrimination of whether she's this or she's that. Bottom line is, she's a bloody good artist and I hope she lives long enough to release more bloody good music.

Yer, she might make the odd good tune now and again (REHAB NO, NO, NO……….well ok just for a couple of days cos my record company reckons it would look good) and any publicity is good publicity even bad, but if she is wants to go on doing so she needs to sort her feckin' life out.

Stop buying and plugging her albums, stop publicising her drunken drug taking. A one way trip to the physic wing of the local hospital and not the cushy private ones either.
If she gets NO publicity and NO money at all from her tunes this may get her life back on track.

I can't understand why she still is a darling of the BBC! All you ever hear on Radio 1 or 2 is her music and she is constantly mentioned on the BBC news for one reason or another.

Some of her songs are pretty good, but like so many other good songs, the radio plays them to death so I come to hate them.

Thing is, Ms Whinehouse is an extremely talented musician, but like so many extremely talented musicians before her (Hendrix, Docherty, Cobain etc), she doesn't know how to handle her own talent (and the fame that it brings) and seems destined to a path of self-destruction.

sad really.

Exactly why do they actively promote her sordid little lifestyle? She should stop being given the air play, stop being mentioned in the press and the only darling she should be is the darling of the methadone queue.

Oh yer, don't start me off on that other oxygen thief, Doherty. Least the name of his band fits Baby SHAMBLES

What we need to get over is the "POP STAR DOES DRUGS" shock and get on with it.

It is because of certain segments of our society (the "Celeb" gossip mag readers) that people get the publicity for all the wrong reasons. The Rolling Stones for example have been walking chemistry sets in their past but no-one seems to lambast them for it.

Simple answer, if you don't want to read about it, don't buy the magazines!

Drugs and rock go together, look at the Beatles, Pink Floyd, ^^^Rolling Stones in fact just about every highly respected band of the latter part of the 20th century.

Mate, her image is p!sspoor awful. Fine, to be taken seriously she doesn't need to be stunning, but her voice is not that magical either. There is a modicum of talent but all those awards? No way. We obviously have little in the way of competition.
