Hi Steve here,
I was in the RAF from 1974-1986, and left due to defence cuts (!!?), yes they thought civvies could do the job cheaper and better, (where have I heard that before?). Anyway I served in the Falklands a couple of months after the argie-bargie, several camps in the U.K also Masirah and Cyprus. But i think the strangest one was the 1100 Marine craft unit in Alness. I thought I joined the air force, not the navy! But I would like to finnish by saying it's a great site and I missed the forces humour!
