Any Guitarists?

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
My current line up is something like:-

1959 Les Paul (Black) played through Marshall MG250DFX
Baldwin Double Six (Sunburst) played through Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Epihone Dot (Sunburst) played through Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Epihone Sheraton (Sunburst) played through Fender Deluxe Reverb

1962 Fender Precision Bass
- American (3 Color Sunburst) played through Trace Elliot 1215

I use about 15 pedals but some of them are just there for technical reasons (noise limiters, tuner etc) so it's probably about 12 real effects pedals but I think I've finished collecting stuff (for the minute at least), with this set up I can get most of the sounds I'm after.

(I use an Orange AD30TC as a 'bedroom' amp)

Only problem is I've got a gig outside this weekend and none of this stuff is waterproof (predicting heavy showers all day!)

That's a lot of expensive gear....curious to know what type of band you play in?

Alright, i admit it's a re-issue (an early one but still not quite worth the £100k of an original)

We play fuzzy psychedelic droney shoe-gazey stuff - somewhere between Spacemen3 and The Warlocks.

I wish we didn't have to spend quite as much as we do on equipment but we haven't found anything cheaper that gives the tones or control and besides which we'd only waste it on birds an' booze otherwise.:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Count me in, got more kit than i can deal with, 6 guitars - Strat, Ibanez RG320, Dean 91E and a hohner les-paul a-like electrics. A naff Ovation rip off electro acoustic and an Ibanez Artwood 2007 Ltd Edition Electro Acoustic. Laney 100 watt amp and multi effects units by Yamaha and Zoom.
I've been playing for about 20 years now and wouldn't mind getting something going up here at ISK....

6 guitars??? I'd understand if they were different types (eg 12 string, resonator etc) but isn't that too much?? :PDT_Xtremez_34:

Still, the choices of guitar are perfect... Especially the Ibanez

Following on from the blues thread that cropped up the other day. Many many moons ago, I learnt my first scale, the E Blues scale, and since then I've always enjoyed a bit of improvisation even if it is just mucking about. And lo and behold there are stacks of backing tracks on You Tube!

Have these for a starter!
Slow blues in B minor

BB King Style (aparently!) Blues in A

I definatley have had the first one on a Total Guitar Magazine!!

Nice find, mono.
Didn't think of looking on there for backing tracks.

My search shall be fullfilled tomorrow.

The quality isn't all that great, especially on tinny little PC speakers. Thankfully mine is hooked up to the stereo and my wee Marshall is sat the other side of the room.

For some reason, my left hand fingertips are hurting though. I think it's been a while!

Most stuff sounds OK through my VOX 15watt, with headphones.
It's also got all the effects of the AC30, reverb, tremelo, distort, etc.

I'll give it a try, tomorrow.
Cheers.
