Army Arrest 6

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Our ever inventive camo clad chums in the Army have found yet another way to get themselves into trouble.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47837499

"Six soldiers have been arrested over an alleged sex attack on a female soldier, it is being reported....The teenager woke to find the men standing over her........Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said he was "horrified" and there would be a wider review into "inappropriate behaviour in the military".........The men were questioned by military police. Five men were arrested last Friday night and a sixth on Monday morning..."

You have to wonder about the intellect of these idiots.

I’m guessing the Army are recruiting from the somewhat shallower end of the gene pool these days.

At least it will give the Defence Secretary something else to think about instead of B****t (aka that which must not be named).

I see that their Chief of Staff has finally spoken out and delivered a stern telling off by you tube.

He'd get a lot more respect if he spoke to the Ministers and SOS for Def like that, standing up for the Armed Forces at this current time.

So that's it!! the Army reduced to a You Tube e-boll0cking that's going to have your average squaddie quaking in their boots if they can be bothered to watch. Also someone seems to have pinched the two rolls of carpet he was carrying home.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Whilst indecent/sexual assaults of the type alleged are ALWAYS wrong, SofS & the CoS would have a lot more credibility in their ire if they had not themselves relaxed standards by allowing druggies to remain in, if they had insisted on proper standards from Crapita in recruiting, if they had delivered proper standards in the maintenance of housing, if they hadn't relaxed fitness standards to accommodate PC driven targets, if they had maintained other standards for public behaviour. If they want the troops at the bottom to maintain standards then those standards must be maintained from the very top downwards.

Yep...defo. Liked the usual statement at the end: "As Chief of the best Army in the world I will not stand it"!

Just two points to be made by me: 1) I've said it before and I will say it again. Best Army in the world is arrogantly delusional. I'm sure the Yanks, China and Israel may have something to say about that. 2) You will not stand it!! That's nice. So how come everywhere we go with you lot or as part of a "Joint" unit there is nothing but issues mostly due to the appalling attitude, as Oldstacker has aluded to, and poor behaviour. This isn't something CofS that has been cultured over-night but has been endemic within the Army since the get-go. And you wonder why the press try to get stories about bullying/poor behaviour/sexual harrassment etc???? Why?? Because it's ingrained in your organisation!!

I hate to say it but a plague on all houses. Because we have social media at hand, then all military will have dark secrets waiting to be told. Deepcut Barracks was probably the creaking door for journalists to pry more and now social media is the weapon of choice. Maybe a return to cold hard discipline from day one when entering the gates.

I’m glad you’ve all found them guilty already.

Bet that video doesn’t get Meme’d

Innocent until proven guilty, yes, but assumed probably guilty.

Interesting that the CoS thinks that this has damaged the Army's reputation... he's obviously spent so much time in their ivory towers, he can't see that the Army's reputation is pretty dire - which is why people assume they're probably guilty. This is the sort of stuff most people expect pongos to do.

If reports are true.... a SNCO was one of the men involved....

That means a lot less in the Army than it would in the RAF. It can take years - sometimes over a decade - to reach Sgt in the RAF, but the Army seem to give away promotions like they were free toys in a box of Frosties. Attend a course, tick a few boxes, and you're sorted.

Nothing to do with this case, but where the RAF have a full career (37 years) to make WO, the Brown bretheren have to do it in 22 years/age 40. That means 7 ranks/promotions in 19 years (allowing 3 years service in their last rank). 3 years between each one?

I’m sure they’ll get an impartial investigation and if anything looks like it’s worth taking further they’ll have a fair trial, it’s not all the people involved work for this fella is it.

Don’t think rank comes into this, plenty of SnCOs and Officers been caught doing wrong things, especially in these internet days.

And that is why working alongside the army can be such a pain. Its difficult to take when a 33yr old WO orders a 45yr old C/T to attend a mess function.
