Army champion off twitter

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
It's mental health awareness week and the Armed forces mental fitness champion (Sergeant Major Glenn Haughton) has removed himself from twitter after years of abuse by online trolls, many believed to be fellow soldiers.

I see why he has the job and mental health hasn't exactly been top of the tree for the UK armed forces welfare in the past. However I struggle to understand how a grown man can be upset by a jumbled up bunch of electrons sent over the interweb by some no name keyboard warrior. Touchy hormonal teens who live their lives via Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram etc yes I can see that but an RSM in the British Army. Maybe as a KOS living in the 21st century I'm missing something

He got a hammering on FYB for dodging the demigod Alfie when he was ASM and never got over it. It spilled over into his next role and the guys who are no longer in (And some anon serving guys) saw him as a easy target. His replacement Gav Patton played Alfie properly and got him onside. Depending on how you look at it Haughton was a career man only concerned about himself and Patton is in it for the lads.
