Hi all, just looking at transfering from the TA to rauxaf, and just wanted some info on training, opportunties for operational service etc away from the party line of the official website.

Oggie aircrew? they are out there...BUT - they have all been regular RAF aircrew previously. You can't join as Oggie Aircrew off the street.

Sorry that wasnt made clear on the webpage i looked at, all apologies!

If you want any regular tasking i suggest either 4624 movements sqn at brize once you have done your trade training there are plenty of opportunities for operational tasking.
done plenty myself
or you could try the TWP police sqn i think they get a few trips in.

Just read your post. 7010(VR) Sqn do regular trips to the sun and sand and have been for many a year, (done many my self). Check their web site through the Reserves link for more info

According to Flight International... you can!

And believe me - they will all be pains in the Derriere!

You'd better have a good look at the ad again Rigga. There's a difference between R Aux AF and FTR RAF which is what they are looking for. The other fact is the at the aircrew they are looking for is for instructors on UAS's - which for quite a few years now have had a fair share of FTR RAF aircrew
