I submitted my application online 5 days ago and they said they will be in touch to arrange the interview, will they do this by phone and e-mail? and any idea how long before they try and get in touch?

The length of time it takes for them to get back to you depends on a few things... but I dont wish to bore you !!!!

They WILL get back, just be patient and DONT make another application or phone the recruiting line as you may end up with more than one application reference which can cause problems/work to rectify.

Oh, and Good Luck!!

ps Forgot to mention.... you could always phone your local AFCO, explain your situation (that you have made an internet application) and ask them to book you an Initial Interview

Hey

Hey

Hiya, first post . . something that i've been wanting to ask about the AFCO . . i made an online aplication, a week later the gave me a call and invited me in for a 'chat' 3 weeks from now.

So i want to ask this, is this 'chat' the propper interview and possible the only one before my AST/physical? or will the be an informal 'chat' as if i just walked off the street to see if the RAF is still for me and to book me for a formal interview . .

Also anyone have an idea on when i would be shipped off to RAF Holton . .. my family are waiting to move house lol.

Many thanks, TheFish

The chat is exactly what it says on the tin....

You can ask any questions, the recruiter will check that you're eligible for service and will possibly ask if you wish to make an application at that point.... if you wish to apply, you'll be given the application paperwork to complete.

What AFCO are you going to??

Good Luck

I filled out 2 hours of paper work online . . thought that was my general application . . hmm

I'm going to luton afco as i live just down the road :-) lucky me.

Thanks for the good luck, hopefully i wont need it . . any idea how long it will be untill my formal interview? i thought i only had a few weeks so i was cramming hard on aircraft details, of which i was woefully ill-informed, and still need to learn more about current affairs and deployment.

I'm going for the role of ICT specialist (airman)

*EDIT*
P.S. what should i ware for this chat?, many thanks, TheFish

Hiya LordFish,

There are a few "issues" with the online application form....

You should go to the first interview smart but casual, there is no need to wear your best... just dont turn up in your best tracksuit!!!!!

Your formal Selection Interview depends on a few things, the timing of your selection test, if you are successful at the test, the timing of your Presentation and if the job that your applying for is available or unavailable (if there are training slots available or not).....

Oh, also, Luton is a small office with a very limited number of staff... there are only so many processing hours in the working day, so dont get too upset if it seems that they are not processing you as quickly as you wish....

Hope this helps.
