Off to Bagram soon, gonna be there til mid-October.

Have been issued the usual desert stuff, but what will i actually need? Can't see me needing 3 of those shirts for wearing under body armour, so prob only gonna take the one.

The job will be at Bagram and won't be involving doing any patrols or anything, just office work.

All advice on ESSENTIAL kit and kit that would be a waste of space all welcome.

Never been to Bagram but as always going into a strange place, a goodly supply of civilian toilet paper will smooth the way.

Plenty of T-shirts, socks etc since they're the items first to go missing in the laundry. The best socks are the issued cream ones since they take the sting out of wearing desert boots, that's if you can get more than 3 pairs out of clothing stores.

Desert socks are ****. If you've got the arctic ones take them instead as they're a lot better.....

Watch out for the 120 day wind and take some waterproofs 'cos it's proper man's rain when it comes.....

Ta very much. Gore tex packed and I've got plenty of decent socks. The desert boots seem quite comfy though.
