Evening all,

Thought I would create this thread for all the people applying for the BES to get together and discuss how they are progressing. I thought it might be a good idea as some of us could end up at OASC together and maybe even at Cosford too!

Me - I've got my P2 Filter Interview on Thursday after successfully overturning a Medically Unfit decision.

I hope you don't mind me dropping a few questions:

How much time has the process taken so far, from initial application to your second filter interview?

Have you been given any expectation of how long you will have to wait before heading to OASC should you be successful?

If you have attended, how helpful has your station's prep club been?

So far it has been roughly three months, but I had a medical appeal in that time and everyone shut down for Christmas too. The boarding for the BES scheme at OASC is only between Feb and April, so could be anytime between that. The Commissioning Club on camp has been helpful but I would not say it was essential.

Have you started the process or thinking about starting it?

I've got another ~12 months before I get my NVQ out of the RAF, so only planning for the future at the moment. Thanks for the info, though knowing the RAF, much can and will change before I get to that point I am sure.

Thought about it, decided against it this time. Like the wheel, it will come around again.
