Seems that something has attracted plods attention to the betting patterns surounding the sending off of Motherwell player Steve Jennings. Rooney Snr arrested plus others in the Liverpool area. Jennings is from the city and formerly played for Tranmere.

Hope it comes to nothing it would be terrible to find out that our footy is a bent as the FIFA board. I would also be a shock to find out that Stanley are only in league 2 because some crime don says so and not because we are pretty cr4p and permanantly skint.

In a slightly different vein, I`ve always said that it`s unhealthy to have all these betting companies as shirt sponsors. Just about every team now is sponsored by Bet-Fred, Bet 365 or some such company. There must be a conflict of interest.

It`ll be interesting to see what comes of it, seeing as no action was taken against Matt le Tisier when he admitted taking a bung in his autobiography. In fact he was on telly acting all Jack-the-lad, when he should have been drummed out of the footballing community.
