I think this is the best forum for this.

I need to buy a 37/42" Flatscreen TV to put on a wall in a Bar in Greece. It's mainly to show sport. I don't want to spend loads of cash because it's not going in my living room for most of the year.

I haven't got a clue about the benefits of plasma over LCD and whilst researching on the net I keep getting conflicting reports. I also don't really know what a good spec is neither.

I'm also going to get an X-box 360 to take to Greece because there is not a great deal to do in the winter. The TV will then be taken out of the bar and put in my living room.

A couple of questions gents.

Is this a 'reasonable' TV? If not can you recommend one for about the same price.

I want the X-box to be an entertainment center. Play DVD's, games, music. Do I need the Elite version or will a premium do? I have got to justify getting a 360 to OC House.

Will the feckers work in Greece?

What cables, wires and all other stuff will I need to take with me to get this up and running as an entertainment centre.

Sorry for the bone questions. I'm not tech minded at all.

Elite desn't offer much over the Premium apart from a larger HD and different colour.

All Xbox 360s (new ones) have built in HDMI but will only play HD dvds via special player.

I would get a PS3 if your not bothered about Xbox specific games- better console IMHO (and Im an Xbox 360 owner.)

The 360 arcade should be enough for you, as for the TV 37" or less go for LCD 42" look towards plasma, if money is tight a 37" LCD may well be your best bet, richer sounds have some decent sets a good prices.

Firstly, you gotta find out what the TV spec is in Greece (remember UK and EU don't work the same way). Then find a source; then see about the best deal.
It's no earthly use buying a UK TV and hoping it will work; it might but. . . . ..

I don't suppose you know where I can find this info. I have looked on the internet but nothing comes up.

Is there something glaringly obvious about the spec that will let you know.
