Boulmer to stay

So, as announced yesterday the future of Boulmer is rosy although there is no announcement on the future of Scampton or K-in-L.

Based purely on economics this makes sense, the land at Boulmer does not belong to Defence Estates and the MOD pay a peppercorn rent for it each year. The cost of returning the land to the pre-Boulmer state would be prohibitive and there is no saleable value (like there was with Buchan/Neat)

So where do the readers think we will end up post NATO ACCS?

I am voting on Leeming for 1ACC (conjoined with the rest of the deployable A3/6 types) and Boulmer remaining as the CRC/SFC for the considerable future.

Any thoughts?

Wouldn't expect Scampton to go anywhere if the rumour that is doing the rounds down here is true.

Sounds about right bud, if I was a betting man I'd stick a couple of quid on that.

Classic rumour control and misinformation on Monday. My trusty underling said that he had heard from 2 independent sources that 1ACC were moving back to sunny Boulmer.

Once I had finished beating him over the head for spreading disinformation and conjecture, I enquired as to the nature of his 2 sources...

One was "the woman from the creche" who was advising mums to register their kids before 1ACC's progeny overwhelm the place and the second was the barman at the Burnside...

How long before the Gazette picks up on such solid intel...?

No mate, the Burnside is under new management and Ray has moved on.

Apparently it's going to close a for a wee refurbishment shortly, I wondered this morning if it was to be as radical as a refurb at the Waverley many years ago. After a month's closure the only difference I could detect was a new fruit machine...
