Okay the next one is 2014 we qualify obviously but who is in the squad for Brazil? Any rising stars at your club who fit the bill. Some of the current crop will be past it or at best in the veteran player class. James, Terry, A Cole, Gerrard, Lampard, Heskey etc etc. Others should be in their prime at mid to late 20's Rooney, Lennon, Hart et al.

Which present day youngsters or in your Brazil 23?

Connor Wickham is an up and comming young striker at Ipswich.

He scored both goals in the Semi final and the winner in the final of the European Under 17's championship. It is rumoured that Spurs have offered 8 million for him, with a loan-back agreement for the season, which Ipswich have turned down.

If he matches the expectations of him, he will be a great player in a few years

Agree unreservedly MM. The problem is will he become another Routledge or Bostock, great young talents at Palace, who went to Spurs and metaphorically "withered on the vine" they were unlikely to ever be a first choice with all the big names and high earners and cheap foreign signings!

I hope he spends another 2-3 years with us playing and developing his game rather than being a premier league benchwarmer. But I suspect if he turns out to be as good as he promises, in 5 years time he will be just like the current shower of gutless money grabbing prima-donnas

Better still, lets just not bother trying eh? Stick to what we're good at like, er, um, buying mobile phones and idolising celebrities. Its far less stressful.

Lets be honest next world cup in Brazil, lump on Brazil now! they could very easily win this one and the next on their own patch makes them virtual shoe-ins. So the England failures have blown the only chance of glory (very slim chance admittedly) until 2018!!!!!

Stil they can console themselves with their Millions, celebrity lifestyles, mock tudor mansions and nailing anything in a skirt!!!!!:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Expect the press to cane them all for going on holiday (although in my view they have just had one!!!!!):PDT_Xtremez_09:

LOL
I chuckled at John Terry's press conference when he said " The lads are bored because there is nothing to do in the afternoons, and that they dont see each other till dinner. Also he's missing the wife and kids (who's wife im not entirely sure) because he's been holed up in a 5 star hotel courtesy of the FA. Well F**K me JT, you want to try 4 months in the Falklands in a 4 man room.

But anyway I think up and coming stars of the future are few and far between because top clubs would rather inject massive capital for instant returns on the foreign market!

Before you have a dig saying I am biased just because I am a Sunderland supporter, I do have some evidence:

You heard it here first.

Add to that Lee Cattermole, Michael Turner and of course Darren Bent who should have been in South Africa instead of that donkey Heskey in the first place.
