Royal Air Force Brize Norton is the main air transport hub for personnel and equipment deployed in support of the continuing endeavour for peace in the Middle East and many other areas. RAF Brize Norton transports tens of thousands of personnel and many thousands of tons of freight per month. In addition we continually have over 600 personnel deployed at any one time. To enable this continuing effort Brize Norton operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at a tempo and duration that has been unparalleled since the Second World War.

To demonstrate our support for our troops and the community, we are holding a charity concert called ‘Brizefest’ to raise money for Help for Heroes, a charity for personnel who have received devastating injuries on operations and Helen and Douglas House, which are hospices that tend to terminally - ill children.

The event will be held on 21st June 2008 at RAF Brize Norton after Families day and will be open to Service personnel, their escorted dependants and friends. We are estimating that around 5,000 people will attend the event. For more information please browse through this site http://www.brizefest.com and please come back regularly to see updated information on signed bands and Brizefest news.

Please check your Units intranet for booking details or visit Brize Nortons intranet website for details.

The Families day site will be cleared from 4pm to set up for Brizefest. If you don’t want to go home, an area for you to relax in will be available (check site map in the programme for details). You must have a valid ticket for entry to Brizefest. Tickets are on sale with all Sqn Adj, and Brizefest committee members. You may also purchase tickets on the day, at the site entry points. These will be on sale all through Families Day.

At least one person in each party must be in possession of a valid military, MOD or married dependant ID card and will be asked to vouch for the remainder of their group. The ID card holder will be held responsible for the conduct of those in their party. Random security checks will be carried out throughout the evening. These are for your safety.

Questions relating to ticket sales or ticket bookings to units other than Brize Norton please contact Brize Norton ext 5517.

P.s. This is not a YRF related event. It is solely run by MoD personnel.
P.p.s. Wobbs has given his thumbs up for this post.
