Last night I had a bash at copying a video of my Wedding for interested family members but I've hit a snag.

The data was copied from a JVC mini DVD-RW onto my computer, put into its own file and then burnt onto a DVD+R.

VLC media player reads it quite nicely as does the PS3 but the DVD player downstairs just spits it out.

According to some reviews for the DVD player concerned (Pioneer DV-340) it can read DVD+RW media but not if it's burnt with Nero or as I have now found out CDburnerXP.

Any hints guys?

What format is the video file on the dvd?

If its an avi or the like do you have the nerovision add on for your nero? if so try using that to convert it to dvd format.

Oddly, many of the more expensive DVD players do not play discs produced on PCs whereas cheapo 17 quid jobs from Tesco's do. Is your DVD a more expensive model or a cheaper one?

Try using a DVD-R disk rather than a DVD+R, or even a different brand of disc. It could be a compatibility problem with the media. Alternatively try using an alternative piece of software to burn your disc, there are quite a few free ones around that you can track down using google.

Cost me £120 about 8 years ago! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

I only purchased it as at the time on my Fitters course there where tons of Pirated movies floating about. It plays CDR's etc quite happily.

I'll see about tracking some other software down, folks have been round for a copy so they'll get back to me on if it works or not. Hopefully it's just my DVD player.

i had the same problem doing a video of a works knees up ...

no matter what i did, no dvd player would play it until someone put me onto this site ...

you can download a free version to see if it works ok, but that puts a banner across the video when you play it, i then bought the programme as i have loads of trips out to put onto dvd ..

the end result is a dvd that you simply chuck into any manchine and it plays exactly like a film

works for me!

i copied a film and it works ok on our 5 year old dvd

Had the same problem with the disks, in the end found that Memorex would play on our player connected to the T.V. and have stuck with it ever since.
