On the leconfield thread, some stackers have posted saying they did the C+E course. Having only done the C course, how can I get to do the C+E?

Many thanks :)

Join tsw! may get it for a dwr, all depends on your pic number, but not many stackers require it for normal station duties so its not a easy course to get.

Snowball1 is right...join TSW. You will need C+E for the 5 tonne drags and maybe the OshKosh tankers (if the MTDs let you drive them). :PDT_Xtremez_14:

But the TG6 hitlers won't let you drive artics because you don't have enough driving hours experience, but the LAC MTD straight out of Leconfield does apparently...go figure.

Strange isn't it! That's empire building for you.

Latest mishap? Damn it ive been on leave this week, and not on camp the past six weeks due to Leaconfield and Odiham.

Although i was in theatre for the massive fuel spill, with Cpl Spillkit! And no it wasnt me, although my flight home was somewhat affected!

Technically though it wasnt a TSW spill, we were all PMOC suppliers on that one!

Get posted to my unit! the raf hands it over to the Army next month and have been spending the whole years budget!

My Sgt who has absolutely no need for any driving courses was told he could get his '1's' course if he could take his licence to MT within half an hour. He turned up on monday and passed on wednesday!

One of my guys put in a 658 the other day for a self drive 4 tonner to go on a job. He was informed by MT control that "only A class drivers could do HGV jobs". However they were happy togive him an Astra so he and his oppo could go to the other unit, whilst a cabbie would follow in the 4 tonner! Hmm money saving?

I can remember (just) when MT used to tow aircraft in and out of hangars, operate cranes and go on driving jobs to pick up aircraft spares.....................

The MT trade, the ultimate in self-licking lollipop trades.

{In a Newman and Baddiel 'History Today sketch' style}

"See that FMT600 in my hand?. Thats your trade that is..":PDT_Xtremez_31:

Got my C whilst working with Muppets and to be honest after a few weeks at Leconfield I just wanted to get away from the ****-hole, looking back C+E could have been good but not sure I want to be a trucker when I'm done with my time up.

Never thought I would be happy to get back to a certain AT base in Wiltshire but after 3 sole destroying weeks with the Barmy Army I was happy to return to Muppetsville...

Just speak to your line manager and ask. Put it in your objectives with some waffle on how it will benefit the trade etc. Remember under ISO 9000000000000000ETC ETC they are supposed to offer you training etc.

I got C+E for having to deploy with the choppers in MSF and needing to pull a trailer behind a 4 tonner. Unless they have changed the rules at Leconfield they just put you through the full C+E course (4 days).

viva las benson!
