One of our lads on our Herc Squadron recently got paralysed from the chest downwards in a motorcycle accident. He's now at Hedley Court and yesterday we asked the PED Flt at brize for any T-Shirts or sports tops that would give him an RAF identity amongst the Army and Navy lads that are there (this is something he's up for). As funding seems to be as tight as a nats chuff nowadays the PED flight could offer nothing. So if any of you Ladies and Gents out there have any good contacts to get your mitts on any RAF type tops to pass on to our lad it would be much appreciated. Please contact me via PM if you're able to help.

I am at brize and was involved in a motorcycle accident in 2009, I spent along time in Headley court and know how he feels about not having a RAF identity amongst alot of army and marines.

My section managed to organise some RAF tops to get made/printed through the station commanders fund.

It made a difference to me to be RAF and not classed as army.

Aside Headley are brilliant, they got me back to a good standard so hope they can do the same for him.

Wobbly,
My friend runs a t-shirt embroidery buisiness, ex chief tech, if you tell me what he would like, size, style, lettering, i will pay to get it made for him. If his own staion can't help I certainly will.

Cheers lads,I will try and get some e-goat shirts made up for him via our shop. I'm a bit ****ed that every day I see people in the gym and out running with light blue RAF tops on yet no bugger knows where we can get them from, not even PTI's.Sign of the times I siuppose.

Wobbly, Can you give us some idea as to his size? Also can "we" (as in the goat) have a whip round and buy something if needs be. I would be more than happy to chuck a few quid in the pot to ensure his "blue identity" is preserved whilst at Headley.

Wobbly what size is he after mate as I can lay my hands on a navy blue sweatshirt with RAF crest embroidered on that he can have would just need size and address to send it to, pm me the details if you can or pm me for work ext, those polo shirts you're on about can be purchased with the RAF logo and sport of choice underneath although I'd have to do some digging for you to find where they come from

I found the link to the page you will need and how to get username/password, I'm fairly certain it's a generic username & password just can't remember it

The AFCO's have the username and password for that site. Incidentally that's where all the RAF T Shirts came from. Unfortunately the AFCOs stopped getting gizzits a couple of years back due to cutbacks. There were still things like filofaxes to give to important people, just not shirts and stuff for the proles.

I've put a feeler out into the AFCO world.... see if I can find any.

The t-shirts you mean are like rocking horse sh1t. The airforce stopped being able to give out such expensive gizzits and the only ones left were pretty much locked away in the deepest darkest store that only the queen knew the code to get into!....well nearly anyway. I spent days last summer ringing every AFCO from the north to the south begging for them (to wear whilst my team completed the Royal Marines Commando Challenge) and even none of them had any... or if they did they were size XL. I have a friend who has a friend however who may know if there are couple left somewhere. I'll do some diggin tomorrow. :)

He's around 6 ft tall and would need an XL - XXL to ensure it fits loosely.
