Hey all, I'm a senior member of a station club (been a member the second longest other than 2 civvies) and I dedicate the most amount of time out of everyone (other than the IC, and i go the club more than him, he just does more behind the scenes stuff with the books) and i'd like to get more recognition for this in my assesments so my question is...Can I as an SAC(T) be deputy IC of the club, and/or treasurer? Or are these jobss only allowed to be filled by NCOs..

AS a note the Club i/c is a SGT

Yes you can! I done it at my old club for quite a while! As long as you're putting the effort in who's to say you can't? we had a right chisler doing it before me so I jumped at the chance when it "became available"! Speak to the OIC, which I presume is an officer and make him/her aware of how keen you are! Good luck dude!

IIRC, the only post you can't have is treasurer (stand to be corrected) as it's got to be a SNCO.

Treasurers can be JNCOs. The 1(F) Sqn groundcrew had a JNCO as a treasurer prior to disbandment.

I've never heard of the post of 2IC of any station club. The rank of OIC for most clubs is usually based on it's financial turnover. For smaller clubs the OIC can be any rank (although usually a commisioned or non-commissioned officer) but for larger clubs the OIC is appointed by the Stn Cdr. Treasurer's for larger clubs tend to be SNCO's who are voted in by the membership and at the descretion of the OIC and/or Stn Cdr.

The post you want for the most cudos regarding SJARs etc is the post of Chairman or deputy Chairman. A good chance to show off your management potential and an opportunity to provide your 1st RO with examples for your narrative.
