The average annual premium is now £564.19 - almost 20% more than it was this time last year, according to market research firm Consumer Intelligence.
Those who have endured the biggest rise are 17 to 24-year-olds, with the average cost going up nearly 25% to £1,489.
Drivers aged 65 and over have seen premiums increase the least - rising around 15% to £423 on average.
Those paying the least for annual insurance are 55-64 year olds who are now forking out an average of just under £376.
....................So, with six points on my license, (2 lost arguements with speed camera's) I am paying £480, fully comp inc AA cover, which is an increase of £200 in the last year, but is mostly put down to my own fault.
