HMS Prince of Wales has suffered damage to its High Voltage power systems...and will be in repair for around 6 months.

I think it is still within Warranty according to the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Are the builders liable? Or do us taxpayers foot the bill over and above paying for it ?
Depends what the cause was. Faulty item on fit or below spec work is BAE’s issue. Item(s) fail as out of life then it’s a fix under whatever maintenance contract is in place and likely a bill to the MOD.

Whatever the original reason for the heap of overpriced unwanted scrap to fail AGAIN you can bet BaE WILL NOT be seen as LIABLE, as the contract will have been worded in such away to clear them of ALL responsibility. They have never delivered anything on time, on cost or on quality

And no doubt the naval engineers will have to check this, this and this (proving something works as opposed to broke) with zero spares to change and will be getting 5h1t from the higher ups as to why it's not fixed BEFORE the contractor even gets involved!!!!

and it has hardly been given any hard work beyond a few sea-trials. I was going to say that it would be hard for them to crash into something but I forgot about the two big fat targets. The shore-line and the sea-bed....

But just remember Gonter... lots of "experienced project managers" with braid at MOD who probably got a promotion/directorships/enhanced CVs out of it all.....
