Can someone please confirm the charges you would pay if you occupied single accom during the cooling off period if you normally live in your own house?

Thanks

Thanks.

If, after 93 days he goes back to her and then a few weeks later goes though it all again and this continues would this be allowed?

Just wondered if there was anything in the system that would prevent people from doing this more than once .....and basically taking the mickey!

A Chf Clk may let this happen once. After that, I'd say you're taking the ****. It is, at the end of the day, the Chf Clk's call.

Yes agreed but we were chatting in the crewroom the other day and wondered what actually stops someone from doing it?

I could personally see it maybe happening a couple of times and therefore if the Chf Clk said no (2nd time around) - would this be right and where would it leave the couple?

Is it laid down anywhere regarding it happening more than once?

Cheers

It's not actually laid down anywhere and it's not like, as it was previously, you were paying abated food charges.

Like I said, it's the Chf Clk's call at the end of the day.

I guess if it did happen more than once and the chf clk didn't allow it then the individual could (as with most things) appeal through the chain of command? :PDT_Xtremez_42:

Anyway, cheers for the info to both. I will relay it at our next discussion period.....1000 on Monday cup of corrrfeee

Absolutely right.

If its not laid down in black & white, then there is no reason you cant appeal and no reason you cant repeat the process for ever. We are not an organisation where financial credits/debits should be based on one person's opinion or interpretation.

Arent the charges for SLA still measured in pence per day? I havent lived in a block since Leuchars but im sure it cost me less than 50 quid a month?

I know superblocks and SLAMs are more common now...but, no matter what the rent its definately cheaper than a travel lodge and more practical than kipping on a mates sofa. So i wouldnt moan

You are spot on.

However, I would also question why the Service is providing SLA for free in these circumstances. The individual would be moving into SLA due to his/her personal circumstances. Why should the tax payer fund his/her personal choice?

Agreed. But if someone is moving in and out of the marital home like a jack-in-the-box on steroids that would warrant further investigation if only from a welfare perspective.

You're only saving the accom costs so it's probably not worth the hassle, there's a good chance that moving in and out all the time might mess up your pay a bit too, by the way I'm saying this would be done on purpose it's just the way with pay systems the world over.

If you're yo-yoing back and forward then this could provide evidence that the relationship is never going to work and could be used to justify the Chf Clk's actions at your unit in refusing to accept the situation after one or two repeats.

Oh for being a civvy where your private life us your own and no concern of anyone else. That's one thing I don't miss.
