Can anyone give me advice or help?

I have just left the service after 22 years. Back in 1993, whilst on duty, I suffered quite a serious injury to my foot and underwent bone grafts to the afflicted area.
Whilst I am still able to walk, albeit with pain and a disfigured foot, can I claim against the RAF for the injury even though its been over 16 years since it happened?
I have had a G2 marker on my med docs and have been seen by the Docs at Headley before discharge.
My only concern is that it happened a long time ago and I may have missed the cut off point if there is one.

All help and advice would be appreciated particularly if you have successfully received a War pension.

Having gone through this a while ago, you are out of time to make a “Blame” claim in a civilian court, three years is all you get for that unless you have some serious reasons (like a coma!) for not staking your claim before now.

Try JSP 765, you should find the answer to your questions in there!

Hope this helps…

If I were you my first port of call would be my local British Legion - they are the experts or will know a man who is

Good Luck

Contact the Vetarans Agency..... they dealt with my claim brilliantly no specific time limit either.
You will be entitled to compo and on going war pension for any injury incurred whilst on duty. if you want more info PM me

Then your second call should be to the RBL for some back up, support and advice.

Obvious question here is why did you wait until you left to make a claim? If you had ongoing medical issues then surely you should have done something before your exit, I'm pretty sure I would have. A voice from inside the fence is louder than one outside!

I would think if you still have issues that an appointment with your local GP saying an old injury was getting worse could help make the ball roll in the right direction for you.
