All,

Please can anyone shed some light on a query for me? Unfortunately, the allowances JSP isn't very clear. :PDT_Xtremez_09:

I am currently OOA and Mrs Rebel has gone back to her folks a couple of times on leave whilst I've been away. I remember back in the day that spouses can claim for journeys back to their families whilst husbands/wives were OOA.

Is this still the case? If so, how do you claim for it? And what timescale do I have to put it in?

Any help is gratefully received.

Cheers everyone :PDT_Xtremez_28:

You can claim two journeys for your ball and chain to visit her parents/inlaws ect.

When I returned from the sandpit last year I went into PSF and the clerk credited me with 4 warrants (1 for each leg of the journey)...then I claimed the warrants on JPA and put in a claim for MMA at PCR for the distance the wife travelled. Easy peasy.

Pretty easy - I was down south last year and put 2 claims in for wife as soon as she had done the trips. But we had a little noddy guide on what boxes to click in - ask around some shiney should know if not wait till you come like Downsizer did.

we had to get our spouses journeys approved by the sqn admin police in advance of the actual journey. It was easy enough to claim while in theatre

Go on the JPA portal, select the library option on the left hand side, then select the media centre option. Within the media centre, you will find the defence guide to allowances, this should tell you what to do on JPA and, if my memory serves me right, provides screenshots. If you struggle after looking at this, speak to your HR, they should be willing to help, especially if they know you have looked at the guide (I always help those who have made an effort to look at the regs/guides)
