Hi All,

As per topic title, I'm completely new and not actually in the RAF....just looking and considering a major career change. I'm a freelance writer/editor, good money and nice views out of my study window but am after a bit more in life and am considering joining up. I'm a year shy off 30, rock-climb (lead E3) and am looking, initially, at the reserves in order to gauge whether a military career is truly up my street. Am considering Intelligence at the moment.

Any advice, tips, libellous tales....that kinda thing much appreciated!

I don't think that the reserves mirror life in the full time forces all that well.

There seems to be more BS than actually doing the job.

Anyone in here been in both and can offer an opinion?
