Probably in the wrong forum, i apologise if it is.

Can anyone recommend a good forces specific company that offer contents insurance at reasonable prices?

I used to see an ad in the airwaves mag for a company but cant for the life of me remember the name! :PDT_Xtremez_35:

Any advice much appreciated. :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Does it have to be with a forces specific company? We got a really good deal with Marks and Spencer for our contents insurance.

We are in a quarter BTW.

Its not strictly the answer you are looking for but, have you looked in the "Forces discount brochure". If you haven't got one handy Mono can pick one up lying around work

No, it doesnt have to be forces specific but my main concern is that it would cover removals in the event of a posting.

Forces Direct rings a bell.

No, it doesnt have to be forces specific but my main concern is that it would cover removals in the event of a posting.

.

Every insurer I have had has covered our moves, all 7 of them!
If it isnt in your policy a one off paymet can be made quite easily and cheaply.

We are with Direct Line & when I phoned them up about the move, they said we automatically got 72hrs insurance cover for the items in the removals wagon, providing that the removal company packed for you. If you pack part of you goods, they won't be covered, unless you pay a premium.

Insurance

I have been with Trinity for several years. Premiums are reasonable, the one time I had to deal with them outside renewal they were very efficient. Cover issue and personal kit, house contents and tenant liability as well as removals in transit.
I the can't put my hands on my po;icy right now, but any search engine should find it. Hope this helps.

I went through the Forces Discount Brochure, and contacted JBI. They cover just about everything, including my 10 year olds mobile phone, they cover all your stuff in transit, ie in a removals lorry, on OOA, as well as the usual freezer, garden stuff and "girlie handbag cover" The overriding facture for me was they were 2/3 of the price of everyone else. I also went with them because I was posted to Belgium and the insurance over here is sky high.

Have you also tried "gocompare." I am back this summer and have started looking into this and have had some good quotes from them!

Problems getting contents insurance...

Problems getting contents insurance...

I live in singley's accomodation at RAF Halton, and i'm really struggling to get contents insurance. Direct Line refused me because the room i'm in (a small bedroom with en suite bathroom) isn't covered under any of their policies, then Tesco refused me because they don't cover property within any military base cos of the high crime (?!?!)...

I'm beginning to give up, but was wondering if anyone in a similar position had any luck, and if so which company did they use??

Cheers

I have been with Forces Financial for years now kit and contents all covered in one package, removal cover and overseas (if you are in Cyprus) also identity theft. Had a couple of claims through them with absolutely no dramas.
