be warned though they grant you the allowance based on your likelyhood to move in the next 4 years.
they ask you to pay for 10% of the fees up to (for seniors) £6300 per term, juniors are slightly less. Anything above that you have to pay yourself,
ex1 term fees are say £7000, the raf pay £5670 (6300 less 10%)and you pay the rest £1330
ex2 fees are £5800 the raf pay £5220 you pay £580
the process can take a few weeks to complete and if you go to your local hive they should have a boarding school pack up with all the approved schools.
hope this helps
BTW i have been getting it since my son started secondary and its his last year, so guess what...manning said i wasn't going to move in the next 4 years and pulled it, im now appealing, reason being that aug 11 I moved from conningsby to gib and then aug 12 from gib to an ex raf base in ireland (due to raf gib closing) but they didn't take that into account as im going to be at this unit for at least until i finish my 22.......thats in 6 years and im applying for last tour in 2 but they don't care. if they can get away with not giving it to you they will. but as i say you can appeal which i am at the moment, any how rant over
