Cosford airshow promo

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Sadly I haven't found the video but really.

"The video, which has thousands of likes, features Squadron Leader Chris Wilson of RAF Cosford reading a script written by a 'Gen Z marketing expert' – born between 1997 and 2012. He calls the airshow 'the dopest event of 2025' which is 'giving main character energy'. He adds: 'Tired of cheugy Air Shows with no rizz? Aight bet. Cosford hits different.' He closes the film with, 'Slay. Feeling boujee?'"

Some of the words above appear to be in a strange unknown language.

Get what they are trying to do, but I think the SLT need to ask these questions

Who are you trying to attract?
Who will this actually attract?
What people do you actually want in the RAF?

Once they answer that then they can actually role out a recruitment programme, which will bring in the right people (IMHO).

They should have recorded this with the various styles, normal, gen Z, gen A then pumped it out over a slow period.

Wow that is nasty, almost painful to watch. I know I'm not in the target audience of today's teenagers but is that really the sort of thing that gets their interest?

Replies to this thread are hilarious.

I bet if you shown any new recruit/AS2 the historical jargon found in this thread they wouldn't have a clue like everyone here.

Things move on, including the spoken word. What harm has it done? Other than try and relate to the future generation, whilst having quite an obvious laugh about it.

It's totally worked. As an advert for the airshow it's went global. That's how engagement online works nowadays. Top marks.
Well if it's worked "online" at the target audience then good stuff. I guess it's an generational thing, this advertising your events online is not for me. You would be better off with a poster on the moon I'm more likely to see that. Blimey I feel old

Translation for us oldies especially proper KOS's like me

Dopest - Superlative for the best of its kind or class, superlative for currently popular, fashionable, or in demand. Adjective.

Main character energy - Essentially, a person who has main character energy acts, or supposedly acts, like they are the main character of a story. In practice, this usually means they act confidently and prioritize their own needs and wants.

Cheugy - an American neologism coined in 2013 as a pejorative description of lifestyle trends associated with the early 2010s.

Rizz -is a colloquial noun, used when describing possession of charisma.

Aight bet - It's essentially a heavily contracted version of "Alright, you bet."

Slay - The term is often used as slang (you slayed it) to describe someone who has done exceptionally well or impressed others. It is commonly associated with fashion, music, and artistic performance but can be used in various contexts.

Feeling Boujee?- Boujee is hip-hop slang for something “luxurious in lifestyle yet humble in character”.

Shabba - A new Word Suggestion meaning Cool, Good, Nice
